Benissa, is a municipality and town in the Valencian Community, Spain. It is located in the northeast of the province of Alicante, in the region of Marina Alta. Its municipal area of 69.7 km² has 4 km of coastline.

The municipal area of Benissa has a very rectangular and square shape with a very heterogeneous orography. From the coast, formed for the most part by small coves and cliffs, to the mountainous areas, formed by the mountain ranges of Oltá, La Solana, La Malla Verda and the most outstanding, the Sierra de Bernia, with its almost 1200 metres of altitude.

The town centre is situated around 200 metres above sea level. In the 4 km of coastline of the municipality, its coves5 and beaches of sand, gravel or pebbles stand out, with rocky bottoms that are suitable for scuba diving and sailing. Of all of them, the most popular is La Fustera beach, which has the largest number of services as well as an area for sports and children's games.

Benissa also has a marina, Les Basetes, located practically on the border with Calpe, which offers the services of a bar, restaurant, sailing school and diving centre.

It is well communicated with other towns on the Costa Blanca, Spain and the rest of Europe via the national road N-332 which passes through the centre of the town and on which work is being carried out to make a ring road around the town, the AP-7 motorway with the Benissa exit, the FGV narrow gauge railway (the trenet de la Marina) and buses which cover both the national and international lines.
